Profile

Alessandro V. Tridico is a PhD Student at the Centre for Psychiatry, with an interest in addiction research and suicide prevention. After graduating with a BSc in Psychology from Royal Holloway University of London, Alessandro read an MSc in Mental Health from Queen Mary University and, as part of his final project, he carried out a systemic review on the role of addiction memory in the experimental use of EMDR treatments for addiction. His clinical experience includes working for the Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust as a support worker at a crisis house for mental health outpatients in community settings and as a mental health community worker in the frontline mental health community services at West London NHS Trust.

Currently, Alessandro’s PhD research looks at incidents of railway suicide in Great Britain, exploring the geography of incidents and the mental health implications of events. For this project, he collaborates with the British Transport Police and Network Rail. In 2018, Alessandro joined the academic team as an academic tutor and visiting lecturer for the MSc in Mental Health Studies.
