Lauren Turner

Profile

I currently work as a research assistant at the QMUL Youth Resilience Unit on the UNITE project, which investigates how loneliness develops in youth from socio-economically marginalised backgrounds using a multi-method, co-produced approach.

I hold a BA in Experimental Psychology from the University of Oxford. My research project tested whether individual differences in autistic traits and alexithymia moderated the relationship between social exclusion and prosocial behaviour in the Prosocial Cyberball paradigm.

I also recently completed my MSc in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at University College London. My research examined the association between polygenic risk scores for schizophrenia and parental social class at birth in the 17-centre EU-GEI case-control study. During my MSc I also worked on placement as a research assistant on the VIG-LD project. This project was a feasibility trial of remotely-delivered Video Interaction Guidance for families of children with a learning disability referred to specialist mental health services.
