Dr Victoria Tzortziou Brown, Dr OBE

Profile

As a GP academic at the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, I undertake health policy and systems research with a particular focus on the design and evaluation of healthcare interventions and their impact on professional behaviour and health inequalities.

As a member of the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine (FSEM), I have an interest in musculoskeletal research and education.

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have delivered undergraduate and postgraduate teaching for many years. I am currently supervising GP Academic Clinical Fellows, and BSc and MSc students in Global Health and Sports and Exercise Medicine.

As the Research and Innovation lead of North East London Integrated Care Board, I work with multiple stakeholders and the local communities towards embedding relevant and inclusive research that aims to improve the lives of people who live and work in this highly diverse area. I sit on the QMUL Life Sciences board and on the UCLPartners Research and Innovation forum. I am a member of the CRN Primary Care Programme Board. I have served as a member and deputy chair of the NIHR Health Technology Assessment (HTA) prioritisation committee and of the Health Services & Delivery Research (HS&DR) funding committee.

I am the Vice Chair for External Affairs at the Royal College of General Practitioners.  Other roles I have held include being a senior founding fellow of the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management, a director of the Healthcare Improvement Partnership and a non-executive director at Turning Point.

Research

Research Interests:

Design and evaluation of complex interventions, evidence synthesis, quantitative and qualitative methodology. Subject interests: health policy, primary care, sports and exercise medicine, health inequalities.
