Dr Yue LiuPostdoctoral Research AssistantEmail: wpw432@qmul.ac.ukProfileResearchProfileI completed my PhD study at the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing at UNSW in 2020, where I investigated the interaction between cerebrovascular diseases and dementia, with a particular emphasis on exploring underlying metabolic mechanisms using plasma lipidomics. As a postdoctoral researcher at Guangdong Provincial People’s Hospital in China from 2021 to 2024, I expanded my research to explore the link between sleep and circadian rhythm disruption and neurodegenerative diseases, utilizing both large datasets and animal models. Continuing my pursuit of dementia research, I joined the Wolfson Institute of Population Health, QMUL, as a postdoctoral research assistant in April 2024. My current research examines the associations between metabolites and dementia, and brain changes, through observational studies and Mendelian randomization analyses. I also investigate the roles of dementia risk factors, including cardiometabolic diseases and circadian rhythm disruptions.ResearchResearch Interests:My research interests focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying brain dysfunction and dementia, as well as the role of risk factors such as cardiometabolic diseases and circadian rhythm disruptions. I am also interested in exploring the molecular signatures associated with cognitive resilience.
