Yes. If you have been issued Tier 4 immigration permission you can enrol on the studies associated with the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) you used in your immigration application.

If your BRP is not available for collection in time for you to enrol, we will allow you to enrol with the decision letter and the imigration sticker in your passport. You must collect your BRP from the post office within 10 days of arriving in the UK or the expiry date of the sticker in your passport (whichever is later) and send a high quality photo/scan of both sides of your BRP to visaverification@qmul.ac.uk. If you do not do this, your registration and enrolment will be terminated and you will cease to be a student at QMUL.

If you applied for your current immigration permission inside the UK, you do not need to show evidence of the date that you arrived in the UK.
Yes. If you have already completed a programme of studies at QMUL and your Tier 4 immigration permission for these studies has not yet expired, you can enrol.
You must submit a Tier 4 immigration application before your current immigration permission expires and within six weeks of enrolling (whichever is sooner).
If you do not submit evidence that you have submitted a Tier 4 application (your "document check list") to theQMUL Immigration Compliance Team before your current immigration permission expires or within six weeks of enrolling (whichever is sooner), your registration and enrolment will be terminated.
If you applied outside of the UK before 31 July 2015 or were granted immigration permission of six months or less, you will need to show:

No. You will have to submit a Tier 4 application using a CAS issued by QMUL before you can enrol. If you will be making a Standard (postal) application, if possible, we suggest you submit your online immigration application, enrol with your documents and then post your documents to the Home Office.

If you do not have your passport and evidence of your immigration permission because you have already sent these to the Home Office, we will accept high quality colour photocopies of your documents. If you are providing a copy of a biometric residence permit, please make sure you have copies of both sides.
If you did not take high quality photocopies of your documents before you sent them and can't obtain copies from elsewhere (e.g. from your previous academic institution), the QMUL Immigration Compliance Team may, with your permission, be able to request copies from the Home Office. Please note, requesting documents from the Home Office may take some time and this could delay your enrolment.

Shortly before the expiry of your current immigration permission, we will write to you to ask you to provide evidence that you have made an immigration application that will allow you to continue to stay in the UK and study at QMUL. If you fail to respond to these requests, your registration and enrolment will be terminated.
The easiest way to prove your right to live, work and study in the UK is with an optional permit or Residence card issued by the Home Office. This means you can show us either:
If your Permit has expired, you can apply for a Residence card if you wish. An EEA Family Permit is free if you apply before you travel to the UK. A Residence card or Permanent Residence card application costs £65 per person.
A permit or Residence card is optional for EEA/Swiss nationals and their family members. So we will also accept alternative evidence of your right to be in the UK. You will need to show us all the documents you would need for a Residence card application:

If your previous immigration permission did not prohibit you from studying at QMUL and you submitted your immigration application before that immigration permission expired, you will be able to enrol and continue to study while your immigration application is to be decided (including any in-time appeal or administrative review).

No. If your course is longer than six months that you must obtain a CAS and apply for Tier 4 immigration permission to enrol.
No. Standard Visitor immigration permission prohibits studies. The purpose of this route for academic visits is to enable established academic staff (typically post-doctoral researcher, readers, lecturers and professors) to take part in research collaborations and exchanges. It is not intended for the use of students.
If you have read the information above and are not sure if your immigration permission allows you to study, please contact the QMUL Immigration Compliance Team.
In your email, please include a copy of your passport details page and a copy of your most recent immigration sticker, stamp, card or document from the Home Office confirming your status.
If you hold more than one nationality, please provide evidence for each nationality you hold.
If you have an in-time immigration application, which is still to be decided (including any in-time appeal or administrative review), please provide evidence of this (e.g. correspondence from the Home Office or Tribunals Service).
If you have not already provided us with a verifiable, colour copy of the required original qualification certificates, you may be required to bring the originals along to your enrolment session. Whether you need to bring original documents and what documents we need to see at enrolment will be communicated to you through the pre-enrolment process.
If your qualifications they are not in English, the original must be accompanied by a fully certified translation by a professional translator/translation company. This translation must include:

If you have not yet been issued your certificates at the time of enrolment, please bring a notification slip or pass list.
It is essential that you provide original documentation where possible; if unavailable, we can accept photocopies that have been stamped and signed by the awarding institution or body.

This guidance is very important as the university may NOT be able to fully enrol you if you do NOT present us with your original documentation at the point of enrolment or before.
If you are from outside the European Economic Area and Switzerland and are studying certain postgraduate and research programmes (and undergraduate programmes leading to a postgraduate qualification), you will need to obtain ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) clearance before you can enrol on your programme of studies. If you will be applying for Tier 4 (General) Student immigration permission, you will need to obtain ATAS clearance before requesting a CAS from the university.
You should not need to provide a copy of your ATAS clearance certificate at enrolment as this will be checked by our Admissions Office before you are cleared to enrol.
